Best Places to Work Remotely

Kowloon, Hong Kong

Cafes & workspaces with wifi, outlets, and more

Curated by Eden Wu, Hong Kong based freelance photographer

I’ve returned to Hong Kong for about 1.5 years now and before working my current corporate job, I was working on my projects remotely.

I mostly like to work from home but working from Hong Kong’s cramped housing environment can be counterproductive sometimes.

Here are some cafes I like to go to get stuff done when I want to get some fresh air.

I go to Starbucks mostly for the convenience since they are pretty much everywhere and easy to find. Some of the downside to Starbucks is their 30 min WiFi with purchase (WiFi code on receipt) and it’s difficult to find a place to sit during busy hours.

I do like the seasonal drinks that Hong Kong Starbucks has to offer though! Currently, the seasonal specials are Chestnut White Chocolate Truffle and Strawberry Red Velvet Mocha.

💡Since this location is inside a mall, you can connect to the mall WiFi instead

caffè HABITŪ is probably my favorite chained coffee shop in Hong Kong. Not only is their WiFi is free and unlimited, their selection of beverages is what keeps me going back. My favorite location is at The ONE in Tsim Sha Tsui.

Tons of seatings at this location, however, it could still be a bit difficult to find a seat during busy hours (Hong Kong problems). The inside seatings are more work friendly.

Although this is called a “cafe”, it’s more of a restaurant than a cafe. They do serve pastries and coffee but this place would be more suitable for work that doesn’t require a laptop.

(There’s a 1.5 hour of dining time limit since this place more of a restaurant setup)
